Default Re: Fuel shut-off valve

Good Afternoon everyone,

An update on the leaking fuel cut-off valve. As mentioned I bought a new one from Brattons but was not sure if the thread was correct. I contacted Brattons and the valve makers Snyder's. Both came back with the same information it is a 1/4" x 18 NPT thread.

Following Larrys40's, suggestion I bought a new 1/4" x 18 NPT die (probably the only living example in France!), ran it through the outlet in the tank. Carefully tried the new cut-off valve, and now we have a beautiful tight fit. Connected the outlet pipe top the firewall, put in some fuel.........NO LEAK!

I know I was probably being over careful, but I think it is better to double check the thread rather than muck up the tank outlet thread. Can you imagine the hassle if you did that?

Thank you again everyone for all your input.

Tony
