I've been prepping my '65 Thunderbird to reinstall the refreshed or replaced interior components and, eventually, the type of trunk panel kit that would've come from the factory. There was definitely some sort of sound deadening material placed on the surface of the trunk when the car was made...a pain to get off, though some of it had peeled off over the years. I will definitely be replacing it with new sound deadening. I bought some lightweight stuff, but I'm thinking it may not be sufficient so I may go with heavier stuff like what came from the factory.
