I have rebuilt them and the least little rusty gas will kind of start clogging it up. It is just a brass cone that fits perfectly in the brass housing. there is a hole that lines up to allow gas to flow. It is a tight fit so that a little grit or rusty goo will make it hard to rotate. Sometimes sealer from years ago will make your life miserable as it works in there as well as the carburetor. I lapp the two surfaces with toothpaste as it doesn't cut as quickly as grinding compound. Graphite packing rope form the hardware has worked for me so far but I think the vendor sell something else. Some modern reproductions are poorly made and don't mate up well but you would know as it would leak.
