Ponder this -

If you drive less than around 1000-1500 miles a year...
And you change your oil annually...

Filtering your oil doesn't remove much carbon crap as
little oil flows through the filter during that time.

Best use VR-1 oil, altho spendy, it is better
insurance than cheap oil and a filter.

Not my initial thoughts but I've been convinced
so by some pros. No, not that kind of pros.
