Since the speedo is sticking, and the error is variable, I’d look at the speedo head first. I’m not familiar with the 58’s, but other speedos have some lube provisions or need cleaning. Hopefully someone will chime in. Much better than not working at all.

As an aside, does the mileage work and appear accurate?

Nice ride. One of Fords best in my book.
