I have a 1G small case Ford alternator. I can keep the same harness and install a solid state regulator in the stock location.

I haven't mounted it yet as I'm still 6 volt positive ground. If I can hide it in a generator case I will. If not, it will at least be painted black. I will also try to hide the regulator in an old style housing. My stock replacement wire harness will be left in place.

I like the stock look too. Adding A/C down the road though.
