Not all DMV offices are the same - and not all the people in DMV offices are the same - so be careful.
You may need to find someone that truly knows what to do and is willing to help.
The town clerk on NH can handle most of the registration and title issues. We are lucky that our town clerk is responsive and cares about her neighbors. There are many horror stories about DMV people that don't care or don't know. Small town DMV's tend to be better than those in big cities.
