There is a difference between using an electric power steering pump on an otherwise conventional power steering system and a self contained electric power steering module. The problem, which may or may not be a concern, is that it is relatively bulky and is hard to disguise if the column is normally exposed. What you are doing, in effect is adapting your vehicle to cope with impairments.
