Default Re: Original Bullitt Mustang(s)

"They need to get a set of Calif. Black Plates for the car, the original numbers would be nice I'm sure something could be worked out.

New Jersey plates don't look right on it."

This is where the term "preservation" applies.

Did the car ever have California issued black plates ... or was that a movie prop? However it was registered in New Jersey and issued the "BULITT" tags. To some folks historical accuracy is important ... particularly when the cars value is expected to go way into the millions.

The car was found with the New Jersey tags. If the REAL movie (prop?) tags were on the car ... yup, that'd work. Would look good.

"Restoration" on high-dollar cars is a tricky business.

Come on down and see the Bullitt ... and the rest of a great car event at Amelia Island.
