Definitely go for the late model Mustang. Better ratios and MANY improvements over the S-10.. I have used the 1" adapter plate but for my current build I am using a Quick Time bellhousing from Speedway Motors. Not cheap ($570.00) but I believe it will hold the critical engine to trans alignment more accurately..
