Sadly, any rotor & caliper combo is going to be heavier than that F-1 front drum setup. Only an aluminum caliper might have a chance at not having a weight penalty. I’m not a big fan of sliding calipers and prefer fixed. Definitely will be scrutinizing the front setup currently on there- I have the automatic adjustment hardware installed but something isn’t quite right as it has been a pain in the neck for consistency as far as pulling.

Check out ECI for disc conversion.
They use a Ford 5 x 5 1/2 rotor with a GM caliper.
This is the same arrangement I am using on '51 Merc.
May have less clearance issues.
