The Ford Muscle forum has a pretty good run down of what folks did for this conversion on their 64 Galaxie cars. Google the Borgeson conversion for 64 Galaxie cars and the thread should come up.

The main reason I finally sold my old 64 T-bird was due to the power steering pump issues on the Ford/Eaton type pumps. They were crap. It would be a lot of work to change over all the stuff but it may be worth it. Personally, I likes the manual steering better on these cars but I'm used to strong arm steering. The old slave cylinder power steering worked OK but the pump was a big problem for 63 & 64 cars.

A lot of these cars were floor shift. If you want remote column shift, you may have a problem there.
