I took the other drum off and the cause of the problem became clearer. The roller bearings are defective. This particular bearing fell apart as you see in the photo. Look at the wear on the end plates. Also, the inside face of the new hub has been damaged as well. At the very least, I seem to need new hubs, bearings, and seals. I will investigate further tomorrow. Thanks for all the responses. I see that others have had this problem as well. These new defective, inferior parts can be a nightmare for our hobby.
