Just went through this 2 weeks ago, new hubs and bearings last summer about 1000 miles since. What i found was that some not all of the bearing end pins would stick out past the cage and were grinding into the inside face of the new hubs. I also had bearings that looked like they were packed in neverseize. I was able to find new original bearings and this fixed the problem. When measured the hub and axle housing bearing surfaces where fine and suffered no ill effects. Glad i pulled the wheels.
