Check your axle end play (in-out). It should be 0.015"-0.020". You should have both ends of the diff up on very sturdy jack stands. Remove the other side hub so that both axles are free. Check both sides. It takes quite a bit of in-out force (100lbs?) to move the assembly to the play limits with the diff in place. Be VERY careful not to push/pull the car over on the stands. If you have a lot of play then the spider assembly is worn and you are likely grinding the hubs against the axle ends on turns. Adding axle shims would move the hubs out, but that is a band-aid to fix the symptom, not a real fix of the problem.
