Hey Bill,
Sadly the local hardware types of stores are all now selling the China made cotter pins. They are so not carbon steel! More like aluminum or tin...but they all do come in a nice plastic tackle box to justify the cost.

Corporate retail America probably did this for us old guys so that you could now have a small child bend the cotter pins over easily with their fingers. Also no cotter pin tool then required. Sorry Ron. It is much easier to have a small child work on your brake rods then us all sliding under the car

Seriously though, please everyone get some good high quality industrial quality cotter pins for your A as your life may depend on them!!!
