Driving the same full stock A for 60 years... full up to start, full down for normal driving. I only retard ( 9 oclock) if going up a significant hill or otherwise lugging the engine. Never had a problem. Understand that most of the driving around these parts are pretty flat. (Except for Mount Elliot
and Mount Clemens
