I remember seeing a number of white (or 'whitish", not pale yellow nor light tan, etc.) shoebox Fords in the early '50's. This was in rural southern Minnesota. They were only a few years old and owned by farmers so not likely to be repainted.
One in particular was stuck in a snowbank in the ditch. Dad stopped to help but came back to the car and said the guy was drunk so we left him there spinning his wheels like mad. Didn't know a Ford six could rev so high! Dad went back the next morning to check on him and "That Ford wasn't making noise anymore!" As I remember, the guy didn't want a ride. (Maybe he had wet pants!)
