Henry Ford made quite a few cars prior to 1908 that could be purchased in about any color the customer wanted. I don't really have any idea when the first use of white may have been but I'd wager in was in those early years before mass production. After the Model T began its iconic assembly line run, the color options would have made the basic car more expensive so black became a standard that lasted a for long time.
