Just a point of interest...
I have magnetic plugs in all three locations:
engine, tranny and rear end.
When I pull the plugs to check/drain oil, I always get
some 'dust' on the plugs. Not very much, but a little.
I highly recommend them.
I think I got them at McMaster-Carr.
