Dump a full can of STP into the crankcase with 40 grade oil and start the engine. When it's warmed up, fog the upper cyls with a50% gas/oil mix with some STP in that oil and with gas turned off (but still running) squirt into the carburetor till it dies. Why? Well STP cannot be completely wiped off steel surfaces and it will stay as a coating on parts longer than anything else. The things I've be taught to worry about in an engine sitting are the cam and valve train. In my limited experience, Mod A valves are very prone to rusting in the guides. Over time, these valves can rust pretty fast. Someone remarked that a cam had acquired some pits rendering it unusable. This is what I try to avoid.
