Ford owned timber on ford owned land was sawed by ford owned mills, and fabricated in ford owned facilities. True vertical integration of automobile manufacturing was never achieved but Ford came very close.. The dream of Ford Rouge was just that, achieving vertical integration would maximize profits. They never got there.
