I believe the rumble seat weatherstripping goes on the actual lid itself not in the gutter. That would defeat the purpose of the surrounding gutter. And I believe they work as guides to align the latching hardware instead of rattles prevention.The weatherstriping and draw tight latching prevents that. IMHO
