Re: Model A Paint Codes
PPG still had a code for Andalusite Blue for my 29 cabriolet. I used that as a starting point. They gave me a printout of the formula for the paint system I was using. I got a small amount and had it sprayed on a sheet metal panel. I ended up shooting four slight color variations on panels. Under most light conditions they all look the same as the original PPG formula, but I picked the formula I liked best. i pulled out a little of both black and crimson tinted pigments.
Check in with the mayor paint manufacturers and see if they have the codes for your original color. i knew mine because my dad was original purchaser of the car when new. ...and i had a few undisturbed original spots i found when taking the car apart, as behind the original data plate on gas tank.
