Hi Tom: On several occasions you have replied to my questions. Thank you. I would try your suggestion of heat and hammer, but there is no place that I can get to the Universal joint to apply the heat. The inner cap cannot be pulled away to give me access. I have tried several very thin wedges to separate the inner cap from the joint housing, but to no avail. I'm fearful of cracking or breaking the edges of the inner cap.
