I agree. When I bought my Studebaker 2 years ago the owner had spent over $300 for a new regulator and rebuilt generator. They worked, but not as well as they should have, so I removed them both and bought good original parts off a junk yard Studebaker. I restored them and it now has a better charge at idle, and the ammeter needle doesn't flicker.
