Is it the correct belt? An industrial application 'B' section belt is often used, [I use them myself], But, really they are not correct for this application. Close, but not right. Genuine Ford belts are wider and have a different 'vee' angle, which means running incorrect belt on 70 year old pulleys that are showing wear patterns in the groove results in a mere point contact each side of belt, instead of full width contact. Check all your pulleys for wear, in my experience the pulley most likely to wear is on the generator, using belt dressings etc is not really fixing the problem. Brian
