The early 1941 pickups continued with the frame used the year before. The new crossmember came in the mid year production for the new G-series 226 that was introduced for 1941. The 1941 cars had a different frame that was designed to use either V8 or the G6. The commercial 1/2 ton had to be modified to use either engine so it took a while longer for their production.

The 9N engine use was introduced early but sales were dismal at best so it was likely discontinued before the 6-cylinder change but I have no info to confirm that.
