62 was a British Ford model slightly smaller than US 68 but not really small like Anglia. It was designed solely for use with 60 engine and was made in several European Models as seen above, with a mix of Ford an Zephyr styling notes.
The basic 62 was chosen by British army for use as staff car and station wagon with engine replaced by the British version of the 1937 type 221. These things had fat tires, raised suspension, and a simplified grill area with a primitive military look.
After the war the 221 version went back to normal height and got a grill that looked rather like a Prefect...this was the Pilot, which had fancy stuff like built in jacks.
