Jay. You are right, I have had training and experience at doing drawings and sketches over the years. Most of my career was working in mine maintenance, starting in the trades, then progressing into management positions. I often had to do sketches in the field, to give to the Engineers to do the final design and drawings. Not being and Engineer myself, I had to adopt the TLAR system, which translates to, That Looks About Right. I had a sign on my office wall that read; Old age and treachery, will overcome youth and education every time. When the young Engineers would ask, "How did you figure this out?", I'd point to the sign.
