So youve got a refractory lined kiln; what do you use for fuel? Propane? Charcoal and air? Ive looked at bunches of "home made foundry" stuff on line... quite a big following. Id like to make some bronze carbide cannons someday! ws
My furnace is lined with home made refractory cement. It's made out of garden perlite ground up with old motor brushes, Portland cement and fire clay. My burner is forced air propane, made out of black pipe and a old vacume cleaner motor. The shell of the furnace is made out of a household presure tank. Not sure what size. Look up lost fome casting I've done some of that to
