The Model B water pump was similar to the Model A pump and in the 1932 Service Bulletins it states that the Model B and the V8 water pumps were designed to use pressure gun lubricants, and to avoid use of special water pump lubricants. The reason given was that water pump lubricants have a melting point higher than the maximum water temperature, which allows any surplus grease to enter the cooling system and block radiator tubes. I know that is 1932 era advice and may not be applicable today with modern lubricants. Maybe someone with knowledge of todays lubricants can give us an update.
