As you can see here the AOD will sit right on your existing stock transmission cross member by re-drilling the mounting holes the C4 requires fabricating an extension plate also the AOD works better with your stock rear end ratio you will cruise at about 2000 RPM at 70 MPH in overdrive but around 3100 RPM with a C4. The best Donor would be the 302/5.0 from 1984-93 as they also have the correct oil pan for the swap and dipstick location.
