Mike,
While its been a couple years I have had to replace the clutch in two 1941's. Both were a tighter fit than the norm, however on both I was barely but still able to remove the transmission through the floorboard area out through the inside of the car. On both I did not remove the center frame brace... If I remember correctly I did have to remove the rear transmission mount to get it to clear.
