You can either use the original grease gun or get a fitting from most of the Model A parts vendors to use on a modern grease gun.

If you like things restored and historical rather than modified there is no need or real advantage to changing to the locking Alemite or Zerk fittings. Henry positioned them so they were all a fairly straight shot with the original pump gun. The need to 'lock on' to a fitting that you can barely reach is not an issue on an A.

If you go the modified route rather than restoration and start replacing original stuff with later parts, some of the fittings are threaded and some are a slightly tapered press fit. You can get a kit with all the necessary modern fittings from most of the vendors.
