Yes, if you take the switch off, you can feel when it is in the neutral position. I would suggest that you put the shift lever in the neutral position, then loosen the screws on the switch, on the column and put it into the neutral position, (you should be able to fee it with your fingers), then tighten down the screws on the switch.
