1963turnerjohn, do you have any mechanical ability, if so you can do the work yourself, then you know what you have. I did my own because of bad axle on passenger side, everything has to come out the driver's side. There's plenty information about rebuilding them and a lot of FB will also help. I did mine without removing the center section, but if the pinion is the problem, you will have to remove the complete drive unit to get to the adjusting nuts. Al
