Can be done on the bench, with the flywheel, disc and clutch assembly also on the bench, disc in place and centered in place. When you snug up the perimeter bolts, the 6 arms move as the springs in the clutch cover are compressed. once the cover is on and snug the fingers then need to be set so they all contact the T/O bearing at the same time and the pressure plate is pulled away from the disc and flywheel face for release.
