Mart,

Originally the wood floorboards were coated with a black petroleum based preservative and lacked any gloss. I use an ebony stain.

The two 7/16-20 x 2 1/4" hex head bolts at the lower front corners of the cowl were originally used without springs.


As an aside, late in the '32 model year a spring was added to the rearmost pair of body-to-frame bolts (along with a different bolt to accommodate the spring) on cabriolets, coupes, and roadsters to prevent fracturing of the quarter panels at the lower back panel referred to in my earlier note on your other thread.
