Exactly what have you heard, ...and from whom? My personal experiences is that "kits" from either supplier mentioned are not 'plug & play' however they are a great start for someone who can adjust, re-fabricate, or fill & redrill holes. What are your own skill levels, and expectations? Also, what is. The condition of the wood you are replacing?
