This Allard J2 is powered by a Ford 'flathead' V8 engine with ARDUN overhead valve conversion. There is a split axle front end and a DeDion rear setup.This Allard was the first J2 entered in competition and was the factory entry at Silverstone, England on August 1949. The car finished 3rd in class.The roadster was shipped to Zora Arkus-Duntov in New York City and driven by Arkus-Duntov at Watkins Glen, G.P., on September of 1949 and later at Palm beach Shores, Florida on January of 1950.
