Like anything it has its place. If you need to drill and tap a lot of holes in half inch steel these would be a real time saver. As others said you can use them with a hand drill and that is a plus if you cannot physically hold a piece on a machine. As said before they are not good for blind holes.

Doubt that it will work as a 1/4" material is max capacity.
