Default Re: B water pump heads

Why 6:1 ? You (Snyder's) already have an 6:1 A head that can be used on a B.

The B engine has larger bearings, semi-pressure oil and an auto advance dizzy. The street CR sweet spot for later 40's-60's flatheads is in the 7-8 range. Something like a 7.6:1 with a Ricardo style chamber and clearance for 1.75 intakes with .400 valve lift would fill a now vacant niche for the B's. Chambers would need to be ~ 120cc.

Looking backward, It could also be used on an A with the B pump, leaving a more 'stock Ford' look than some of the higher CR aftermarket A heads.
