when I was a lot younger and dumber my Dad had a 51 F-1 with a 302 and a early trans. I must have been going 100 mph or so, down the hwy. I heard a loud bang then something hit me in the right leg, it was the shifter, I looked in the rear view mirror and saw parts flying. the drive shaft, starter motor and parts of the bell housing. when I pulled over the trans was sitting sideways and it broke the input shaft. my Dad asked me what happened? I said it just came apart
