Too often dangerous fires are started by idiots with a lighter.
I predict that these fires will soon be under control - 200 of Australia's and New Zealand's best firefighters are on their way to help our American friends and I would be surprised if other countries were not lending a hand too.
I think anyone caught lighting a fire on a hot, dry day with the intention of causing mayhem like this should be treated no differently from a terrorist.
I hope all affected can move on with the minimum of loss.
