I sandblasted the plating off my 28 and 29 instrument panels, then sanded the. It was a lot of work and took a long time, then cost me $75 to get them plated 15 years ago.

30-1 panels would be worse to restore because of all the grooves.

That split ring on the rear can't be removed, as it's crimped to the panel.
