Default Preferred way to get to pressure plate

I am getting a weird noise occasionally going through the shift pattern as I double clutch. It makes a sound like you hear when when a tight spring unwinds. Doesn't do it every shift but as time goes on seems to be getting more prevalent. Completely replaced the entire drive train including transmission gears, pressure plate, throw out bearing, etc. a couple of years ago. Only been driven about 500 miles since then. Now I am full time in FL so getting more use. In chatting with some local Model A friends it is sounds like I have a bad pressure plate. Now my question: is it easier to do the rear end removal or engine removal to get to the plate. Any suggestions very much appreciated. Jim
