Just bite the bullet and break the head off the last three valves and use a piece of pipe over the valve stem and pound the guide down until you can pull the clip out with vise grips.
Don’t waste your time using the old valves, the new ones are stainless steal and most likely will be tighter in the guide than old valves.
Besides that, they are low priced.
