The spring should have a lubricating fitting in the center bolt, it looks like a grease fitting, but if it was greased it will be internally clogged with grease, should be lubed with spring lube, a mixture of ice machine oil(thin oil), talc,and a dash of ground asbestos, 75%auto trans fluid, 25%talc, talc is one of the ingredients in slip plate. The leaves have groove down center to channel lubricant to the tips-- unless spring was greased, then they will be full of hard grease, once the spring is lubed you will find out how good your shocks are
