The leakless pumps have a common characteristic which is a modern front bearing that prevents the pump shaft from moving. The pictures show Jim Ruppert's leakless water pump that employs a modern ball bearing.
I make my own by using a modern front roller bearing and the latest leakless parts sold by my local parts supplier. I lube the front bearing just once during assembly of the pump using synthetic wheel bearing grease. I lube the rear bushing twice a year, and I also have a water pump lubricant in the coolant.
